A cheap magnet beats high-tech

The BBC has an article (with its usual un-bloggable video) about defeating a smart gun using a 'cheap' magnet:

This week, the world’s elite hackers gathered in Las Vegas, Nevada for Def Con, the largest underground hacking event of the year.
The BBC’s North America technology reporter met a hacker who had circumvented protections on a handgun designed to make it impossible for unauthorized people to shoot.
